ABOUT ME //////

Over the past three decades, Dj A-Ski has become one of the most trusted musical tastemakers in the U.S. and beyond. As a Dj, producer and musicologist, he consistently raises the bar in performance and showmanship. His style, often described as “refreshing and energetic”, has earned this music aficionado a loyal following and a reputation as “the life of the party.” His eclectic selections, turntabalism and skillful approach to MC’ing, make him a triple threat to his peers. Refusing to rely on gimmicks or trends, A-Ski’s reputation is solely built on a sincere love of music, dance and atmosphere. “Improving the quality of life through sound” is his mantra, which has maintained the longevity of this Los Angeles native’s career in music.

A-Ski has collaborated with world-renowned performers such as Nikka Costa, Seal, Garth Trinidad, Dj Center, Mayer Hawthorne, Dj Spinna, Joe Sumner (Son of STING), PPP, SA-RA Creative Partners, RES, Vikter Duplaix, Rich Medina, and Dj Rashida (PRINCE). His trademark unique sound has also contributed to the branding of companies such as Nike, Puma, Adidas, Estee Lauder, Red Carpet Boutique, Sport Illustrated, Ralph Lauren, Scion/Toyota, HBO, True Religion Jeans, and many more. He’s played various venues with Dj residencies from Los Angeles to New York, including The W Hotel, The Standard, The Roosevelt Hotel, Temple Bar, King King, Zanzibar, House of Blues, Tillman’s NYC, SOB’s & Sin Sin. His commitment to social causes and outreach is also apparent in the roster of foundations and agencies he works with such as: AIDS Project LA, Breast Cancer Society, Michael Comte’s Shared Water Foundation, as well as Laubach Literacy. A-Ski has worked with various record labels such as Virgin, Interscope and Geffen, while his creative/marketing savvy created the opportunity to work with artists such as Common, Dr. Dre, Mariah Carey, Les Nubians, D’Angelo, NERD, and Daft Punk.

A-Ski got a taste of the radio industry in the area of broadcast production as a college intern at KCRW (working under the direction of Gary Calimar, Tom Schnabel and Jason Georges) during his days pursuing a degree in English. Between 2006-2008, A-Ski produced two radio shows on the NYC basedWheatBread Radio (the nighttime soulful-eclectic themed “SUTRA” and his Thursday morning mix show “Unique74 Sessions”), and previously served as Creative Director/Producer and host of “Walk Talkin’ Radio” for SCION/Broadband. Currently, his company UNIQUE74 is a label imprint which produces various music projects that are exclusively released under the moniker in addition to producing and consulting for various events and projects throughout the world.
